AMSEC LLC chooses DMSi to assist in the development and integration of a Technical Data Knowledge Management System for the US Navy

DMSi and eidon GmbH selected to develop integrated content repository

Newport News, VA – March 26,2002. AMSEC LLC recently announced the selection of Document Management Solutions Inc. (DMSi) as a key participant in the development of a Technical Data Knowledge Management System (TDKM) for the U.S. Navy. The TDKM will significantly improve the time it takes to update the technical documentation aboard naval vessels.

DMSi will integrate the content from several distinct content management systems into a central repository, where it will be indexed and categorized based on specific information contained in the data. Once a ship pulls in to port, the TDKM will check the revision level of the documentation on board and automatically update the ship with the latest information.

eidonXportal, a product of eidon GmbH, was selected as the foundation for DMSi’s solution. eidonXbase, an XML content management system, will index and categorize the integrated data, with Software AG’s Tamino, a native XML database, being utilized as the deployment repository.
